The California Department of Education has recently released the results of the 2016-2017 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and once again South Pasadena Schools have outperformed the state.
The test results reflect the performance of students in grades three through eight throughout California. Tests are conducted for both English language arts and mathematics proficiency.
This third year of the testing measured the student’s abilities to handle critical thinking tasks which mirror the skills needed to perform well in college and on into modern careers – which require clear communication skills and complex problem solving.
According to published reports, “These results place South Pasadena students in the top five of all K-12 unified school districts in California”.
The students from the South Pasadena Unified School District improved 7 percent year-over-year on the English language arts portion of the test and 5 percent year-over-year on the mathematics portion.
According to the California Department of Education, “The tests are part of what we call the “California Way.” They are simply tools, a new way of evaluating schools and districts based on multiple measures of success, which include test scores along with college and career readiness and graduation rates”.
South Pasadena Homes is proud to acknowledge the role that outstanding local schools have in significantly boosting home values and applauds the South Pasadena Unified School District for their continued excellence.
